The power of Social Media

Social media is so widely used these days. I think it’s great for people like me because I can keep in touch with family and friends without having to go anywhere, I can just sit in front of my laptop and start chatting with my family and friends. Before I found out about Facebook, Twitter and whatsapp the only way I could communicate was by calling or meeting the person face to face to talk, there are 2 reasons why I dislike the 2 things I have just mentioned 1. Talking on the phone for long hours will make your bill high and you are talking out loud and everyone will know what you are talking about. 2. Going to meet the person- If I didn’t want to call I would have to meet the person, which is tiring for me and my parents to travel all the way just to tell that person that one piece of info. Now that most of us have whatsapps or facebook it’s ease to share info.
Social media is also an awesome way to remember events. Sure you can take pictures and save them on your computer but what if your computer breaks down the next day? If you upload the pictures onto any social network it’s going to be there forever, for you to remember and cherish the event.
Me and my extended family very rarely meet up but now when we meet up we have something to talk about. Let’s say my cousin just got back from an overseas trip and if he or she talks about it on facebook, we can ask things like “ Hey how was your trip?”  We start talking about it. Social networking is great but nothing is better than doing things as family and friends in real life because real relationships are what keep us close. J

why am I so awkward ?

So if you guys didn't know I'm usually very awkward. For example when I meet someone new I’ll be like “ Oh no what should I say to impress this person?” I normally wait for the person to make the first move. Even when I’m having my weekly speech therapy session, there will always be an awkward silence at any time. I always live in my own imaginary world. Sometimes when I’m sitting down at the dinner table with my siblings. They start talking and I have no idea what they talk about. Well I know what they talk mostly talk about school. I find it hard to relate to the topic because I don’t go to a mainstream school like they do. So yeah those are reasons why so awkward See you LWK

" What Do You want to be when you grow up? "

“ What do you want to be when you grow up?” is a question commonly asked by parents to their child or children at a young age. My mum & dad asked me that question when I was 6 or 7 years old and my answer would always be“ I don’t know yet.” Now that I’m older I start to think about what I want to work as. So here’s a list of the top 5 jobs that I want to work as and the reason why I want it.
 5. Radio DJ
I think that a Radio DJ is a good job for me because I get to combine my two passions of Music and interacting with others together and I don’t have to move around so much. I would like to go to many events to meet many famous people. The radio station I would love to work at would be 987FM because they play my favourite kind of music. If I could pick any 987FM DJ to be my partner it will be the muttons because they are extremely funny.
4. Child counsellor
I really like helping children feel their best so I think that after leaving school I might go to MCYS to sign up as a volunteer child counsellor, to see how is it like being a child counsellor. I like helping children because; I believe that childhood should be the happiest time in one’s life. I see the value in giving a helping hand to children who need it.
3. Actor
I’m no stranger when it comes to being in front of the camera. Ever since I was young I was on television on posters and magazines. So think I want to chase my dream of becoming an actor at mediacorp.  I would most likely act on channel 5 because my Chinese is not that good Ha Ha. I would like to get the leading role in one of the English crime dramas. The person I would co-star with would be Mr Tay Ping Hui.
2. Hollywood movie director
I would like to fly to Hollywood to become a movie director. The people I would induce in my movie are jet li, Jackie Chan and Kim Kardashian  I will make sure that my movie has the right amounts of fight scenes, romance and a lot of action.
1.     YouTube star
My number one dream job is to be a YouTube star. But I'm too shy to post my videos on Youtube because I'm afraid of the mean comments. If I do get famous off YouTube  I would like to meet my favourite youtuber Jason Chen and do a song cover with him.

An evening with the stars @ Mediacorp

Hey guys, so if you guys didn’t know my family & I were on television last night! I’m here to share this once in a lifetime experience with you.

Filming

On the 27th of January my brother and I were just walking home from school when, the camera crew said “ Ok can you guys walk back up? We’re going to film you guys.” We did the same thing 3 times before we cloud go up to our apartment! After reaching home the producer said “ We’re going to interview you in 10 minutes .”  So I decided not to shower in order to save time. During my interview, I had to speak in Chinese, which was no easy task for me, thank god for the Chinese classes during my PAP days. Ha Ha. The filming was over and I so excited for the day of the live show.

The Big Night

The day of the show came, I was so happy to be on tv.  After returning from my cousin’s birthday party I took a short nap before going to the studio. At  4:45, the bus came to pick us up to send to us the studio here’s the funny thing the bus was empty, I kind of felt like the bus was our limo LOL. When we arrived we were escorted to the viewing where we had our dinner. After dinner we went to sit down on our seats. I kept going to the washroom, so they changed my seat closer to the exit. When my story came on tears were coming down from my eyes. After the show we managed to get our picture taken with one of the cast member of Point of Entry. It was a fun Now I’m famous lol.

My first dental check up

So I was just finishing up my week of school. When my mum came to pick me from school to go home, everything was fine until I got to my grandmother’s house. I was angry at myself for not doing well in school so I was forcing my walking aid to go up to my grandmother house. Little did I know it wasn’t up yet, so I bent my body forward and I fell face first onto the floor. My tooth was broken! My gum was bleeding, I was yelling in pain. My mum & dad took me home to rest.
At 11pm my parents took me to the A&E department of KK woman’s and children’s hospital. After a 30-minute wait, we went into the doctor’s office. The doctor said that he had to refer me to another hospital. After we got to the new hospital, we immediately went to the doctor’s office. In the office I had a fear of not having not my handsome face, luckily the doctor said “ Don’t worry we can ask your local dentist to make you new tooth.” I let a shing of relief.
It was  scary but lesson learnt  never get angry at things that you can try again.
Let me know when was the last you got your tooth remove? Leave your answers below in the comments below See you!
